ATHLETICS MEETING AT KINGSWAY PARK HIGH SCHOOL

On Monday, 9th July, some of our Year 5 and 6 children were involved in an Inter Schools Athletics Meeting at Kingsway Park High School. We had a fantastic night, winning the under 10’s overall, over 10’s overall and therefore coming out the overall winners on the night.  The children were amazing and showed great team spirit.  Well done to all those who took part and thank you to Mr. Ferris, Mrs. Hall, Miss. Gibson and Miss. Bolton for organising the evening.

SATS

The year six children also did extremely well in their SATS. All pupil progress and attainment meetings throughout the school have gone extremely well.  I am really proud of all the children and delighted with the progress they have made this year. We started the year with a very good Ofsted and we have finished the year with fantastic results. Well done to all the pupils and staff. Also, thank you for your support at home, this really is a team effort.

ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE

The attendance certificate for last week was won by Eagles Class with 99.7% attendance – well done to Eagles. Attendance for the school was 97.4%.

MOSES SCHOOL WEAR

Moses School Wear, Drake Street, Rochdale will be offering 10% discount on any sweatshirts/cardigans bought in July.

PIERCED EARS

If you are thinking of having your child’s ears pierced it would be advisable to do so at the start of the summer holiday. It will give them time to heal properly before we come back to school in September. In September the earrings must be removed or covered for PE.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Please ensure that your child takes home all their personal belongings before we finish next Friday.

DINNER MONEY

Please note that from September, dinner money will be £2.15 per day: £10.75 per week.  Children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 all qualify for Universal Free School Meals, however, if you currently qualify for Free School Meals (regardless of what year your child is in), you must renew your application ready for September now. New forms are available in the office. Also, from September our new online payment system will be up and running.  You should now have received a separate letter together with either an email or text message detailing how to login ready for September, which hopefully, will make paying for school meals more convenient. This system will, eventually, also apply to trips.

FRIDAY, 20TH JULY

All the children will watch the year six production in the morning. This is a normal uniform day and year sixes can sign their shirts.

Good luck to all the year sixes who are moving onto high school. Work hard and you will all succeed. It’s been a pleasure watching you all grow and develop over the last 7 years. Congratulations on amazing SAT results, you should be very proud of yourselves. You really have worked extremely hard.
